As
per Section 6 of Township Ordinance No 153, known as the Noxious Weeds and Grass
Control Ordinance this notice is to any or all owners/occupants of land situated
in the Charter Township of Montrose,
To
prevent noxious weeds and grass from going to seed, and to prevent said weeds
and grass from becoming a detriment to the public health, all land within
platted subdivisions in which buildings have been erected upon 60 percent of
more of the lots, or on all non-platted parcels of land along improved streets
or private drives in common usage, it shall be the duty of the owners/occupants
to maintain any growth of noxious weeds and grass from exceeding ten (10) inches
in height on the average.
Weeds and grasses located in fields devoted and used for agricultural use are exempt from the provisions of the Noxious Weeds and Grass Ordinance.
If
the owners/occupants of any land notified to abate a nuisance resulting from a
violation of the provisions of Ordinance 153 fail to abate such nuisance within
seven (7) days, the Township may enter upon such land and destroy by cutting any
such noxious weeds and grass. All expenses incurred including an administrative
cost of $25.00 in connection with the cutting and removal of any noxious weeds
or grass will be charged to the owners of said lands and may be levied and
collected in the same manner as taxes are levied and collected.
